Summer of Firsts

This summer has been unlike any other. With the uncertainty of what the summer would look like with COVID-19, we had an exciting and unique line-up of events.

Of course we were able to take the truck out to serve the community and there were many happy couples that chowed down on our mouthwatering brisket on their wedding night. But this summer it was the unique events that really stood out and made this a summer we won’t forget.

To kick off the summer, in July Phil and our team were asked to cater the Boots and Roots Tour at the Knox County Fairgrounds. Not serving the crowd, but catering directly to the artists! What did they eat? Sliced pork loin, chicken breast, mac n cheese, coleslaw, green beans, and salad. Later that evening, we cooked them up some salmon and steaks. The artists straight from Nashville, TN commented that this was the “best BBQ they have had in the past 10 years while being on the road.”

At the end of July, we introduced the newest addition to our menu, the Hog Father; A delicious pork burger topped with a generous amount of pulled pork. Don’t forget to add your favorite Henn House BBQ sauce on top! The Hog Father made its food truck debut at the Oneida Car Show and has showed up a few times since.

August was just as exciting as July! We kicked off the month with a Concert with the Cows sponsored by the Grateful Graze. We served up some delicious cuisine while local artist Angela Meyer sang on stage while being surrounded by cattle. This was the first Concert with the Cows event we’ve attended, and we are excited to announce that we will be back at this annual event in August of 2022!

Most recently, we took the truck out to New Windsor for their annual rodeo. It was a hot weekend but a successful one. The entertainment was good and the food was too! On the last night of the rodeo, we hit a personal best per hour in sales and almost sold out of food. Fans were hungry, and we made sure they were fed and satisfied.

Not to toot our own horn… but TOOT TOOT! What a successful summer! We are excited to see what’s to come in the next several months and can’t wait to take you along for the ride.
